We are Kiko’s Cat Cafe, the only cat cafe in the UK dedicated to fostering rescued cats until they find their forever home. Partnered with People’s Animal Welfare Society, we help give rescued cats a loving environment and a second chance at life.
We are nestled into the East Sussex town of Rye, so if you’re looking for cheap things to do in Rye whilst supporting a fantastic cause, then read on.
Where to find us
Kiko’s Cat Cafe is situated on Fishmarket Road in Rye, a short 10 minute walk from Rye Train Station. If you’re travelling by car, there is parking available a 2 minute walk down the road from us at Lucknow Place Car Park (TN31 7LR)
How to book
We do accept walk-ins, however we advise visitors to book their visit in advance on the website to avoid disappointment (as spaces are limited and we get busy). You can click here to book your session. We offer 60-minute sessions, but you can extend to a 90-minute session by speaking with a member of staff when you arrive. We do not have wheelchair access, and only accept children aged 4 and above.
We also offer discounted daily happy hours on weekdays at 10AM!
What’s on the menu?
Our cafe menu has a vast range of coffee, tea, hot chocolate, cold drinks and snacks to treat your tastebuds during your visit (the pork & sage sausage rolls are a popular snack). You can view our full menu by clicking here. We also offer gluten free and vegan options.
Cats are our priority
Because the cats are our top priority, there are a few house rules that you must follow when visiting the cafe. These include things such as being cautious when entering or exiting, never picking up our feline residents and being gentle with them. You can read the full list of house rules here.
We also ask that guests remove their outdoor footwear to maintain a safe and hygienic space. We sell Kiko’s Cat Cafe slippers if you wish to slip into something comfortable during your visit.
Our triple-door system ensures that our cats remain safe and happy (and also ensures that none of our cats attempt a Houdini-style escape).
Our cats
All of the cats that you’ll meet at Kiko’s Cat Cafe in Rye are rescues, and this is their temporary home. If you create a bond with a cat and feel like they are the right fit for you, you can fill out an application form, which will go to our partner charity. They will then take it from there to complete further checks and talk you through the process.
